| Important : Incoming & Outgoing Mail Server |
All mail programs need a Incoming and Outgoing mail server setting. Use the following information when setting up your account.
Incoming/Pop3 Mail Server - This is where you get you mail FROM.
- Alpha1 ISP Users : Your Incoming/POP3 mail server is mail.alpha1.net
- Domain/Web Hosting Customers : Your Incoming/POP3 mail server is mail.domain.com, where domain.com is your domain.
Outgoing/SMTP Mail Server - This is the name of the mail server you use as a vehicle to send all of your mail out.
NOTE : You will need to enable ASMTP (SMTP Authentication). The Outgoing/SMTP server needs to be the SAME as your Incoming/POP3 server.
- Alpha1 ISP Users : Your Outgoing/SMTP mail server is mail.alpha1.net
- Domain/Web Hosting Customers : Your Outgoing/SMTP mail server is mail.domain.com, where domain.com is your domain.
Special Note - In some non-common instances, we've found that some customers are being port filtered on the standard port 25 forcing you to use your ISP's SMTP (Outgoing) mail server. This can be simply avoided by changing your port as shown in our alternative port guide.
