This guide covers instructions specfically for Eudora v5.x (Version 5 series). If you are unsure what version you are currently using, start up Eudora and look for the version on the 'splash screen' (Logo) at startup OR use the dropdown menus to look under Help/About.
Note: In order to use SMTP Authentication, which Alpha1 requires, you MUST have Eudora Version 5.2.1 at a minimum. Versions prior to 5.2.1 do NOT contain support and functionality for SMTP Authentication, a method of sending now widely used on the Internet. Eudora 5.2.1 was released in August, 2003. (There are now more modern versions offered).
To configure your account, you will need to know the following:
- Account Name (Also referred to as "login", "username" or "pop3/webmail login"
- Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing (SMTP) servers (Normally mail.alpha1.net or mail.mydomain.com)
If you don't know either of these, please review the Main E-Mail Support page or contact our support staff.
IF you have domain/web hosting services with Alpha1, then you can find this information by logging into your Control Panel
where accounts are managed for your domain. The Control Panel lists both your account name AND your mail servers. If you were issued your account by a member of your company that has
Control Panel access, please contact them for information and/or confirmation of your settings.
Just need Authenticated SMTP (ASMTP) assistance? Use the 'Next' Arrow at the bottom to jump to the end of this guide.
