San Cassiano Hotel
Here's the sign at the entrance of the wonderful hotel where I stayed while in Venice.  It is right on the Grand Canal and was a palace in the 14th century.   In the picture you can just see part of the Grand Canal at the bottom.

room
The room was small but elegant and very comfortable!

hotel view
Here's what I could see when I looked out the hotel window to the left.  Down below is a small side canal and beyond is the Grand Canal.

outside hotel
The view from the landing at the front of the hotel.  The building over to the right with red curtains (actually tarps I think) is the fish market that you will see in a later picture.

murano chandelier
The Murano glass chandelier in the room - Murano is an Island right near Venice that is famous for glassmaking.
