Here's the sign at the
entrance of the wonderful hotel where I stayed while in Venice.
It is right on the Grand Canal and was a palace in the 14th
century. In the picture you can just see part of the Grand
Canal at the bottom.

The front of
the San Cassiano Hotel on the Grand Canal

The room was small but elegant and very comfortable!

Here's what I could see when I looked out the hotel window to the
left. Down below is a small side canal and beyond is the Grand
Canal.

The view from the landing at the front of the hotel. The building
over to the right with red curtains (actually tarps I think) is the
fish market that you will see in a later picture.

The Murano glass chandelier in the room - Murano is an Island right
near Venice that is famous for glassmaking.
